Funeral Expenses

Funeral expenses and meeting the costs

Funeral costs consist mainly of two parts, The Funeral Director fees, and third part fees known as Disbursements, Disbursements are fees paid on your behalf such as church,  cemetery or crematoria fees. Medical or doctors’ fees for cremation paperwork fees paid to external.

Disbursement fees are out of the control of funeral directors and some may be subject to local variation.

We will always provide a fully itemised estimate of all charges at or just after our first meeting to discuss any funeral arrangements.

We understand how daunting suddenly facing the expense of a funeral can be, especially when it was not expected. Likewise, we know how difficult it is to have to have to suddenly find the funds to pay for a funeral.

We can present our invoice directly to a bank or building society held by the person who has died to allow them to pay directly out of their estate. We can also present our invoice to the deceased solicitor enabling them to make the payment.

If you would prefer us to issue our invoice directly to you, we will do so once the funeral has taken place.  In most cases, we do not require a deposit of any kind at the time of making funeral arrangements, we believe this allows you to concentrate on more important things than worrying about funeral costs.
